Everyone Has A Story

Today has been an amazing day! I'm not kidding!!!

I have been rushing around like a nut because I leave for Texas tomorrow. All those last minute things I have to do.

One of the things I had to do was make more copies of a key to give to the people who are watching my pets. So I went into Home Depot to have more keys made. This wonderful man named Carl waited on me. We talked (I talk to everyone) and as we were talking my ears perked up!

I began to listen intently to Carl. He has worked at that particular Home Depot since before it was built. He was a part of the building process. Anyway, he had a terrible accident last year while working there. The doctors said he wouldn't be able to walk or use his left arm ever again. He looked at me with a gleam in his eyes and said proudly "I proved them wrong!" And yes, he did. Plus he truly cares about helping people at the store.

Then I ran over to get my nails done. There was a lady named Mary (another customer) in there. She was talking to the fellow who was working on her nails, and, of course, I couldn't help but hear what she was saying.

She said to him "You don't recognize me do you?" He was being polite and denied it. Eventually he admitted that he didn't. Her story was: She lost 175 pounds within the last two years! Why? Because she had had diabetes for six years and wanted to take charge of her life. According to her, she no longer has diabetes! I asked her how she did it.

She said "I stopped eating anything that was white - bread, pasta, etc. - and I started exercising by going to a gym." She said she couldn't take the way her life was going.

Mary is full of energy and you would never have guessed that she had a weight problem! I told her that when I get my pod casting situation set up, that I want to interview her. She is full of passion about what she did and wants to help others. Her occupation is a hair dresser. What a great place to help others! Watch my website for the interview.

Then I stopped at Staples to get a few things and I saw Jeannie. Dear Jeannie. Jeannie is one of those people who bends over backwards to help me with anything I need - printing, etc. And she gets the orders right! Several years ago she had a small heart attack - she's probably in her late 40's. She's doing fine and continues to be wonderful, helpful Jeannie!

Finally, I stopped at Starbucks to get my favorite Vente Soy Latte. The ladies behind the counter we absolutely wonderful! They even complimented my silly glasses!

Why did I have so many happy things happen? Because wherever I go, I walk in with a smile. I expect pleasant people to work with and I get just that.

It's the energy of positivity - I believe - that's contagious. Try to catch it - you'll like it!

Well - that's it....

Each one of these people have told me their story and yet, they have not let their life go sour because of life's glitches!

Truly - a lesson for me!

So how many personal stories have touched your heart today? Send me your story - I would love to hear it.

I'm off to Texas - will write more when I get back.

My latest newsletter is up for you to read. Included is a meditation. Oh yes, the topic is: Uniquely YOU!

Have a great day - you deserve it!
